Okay, here's what I remember - which is basically just this one scene: Rodney thought, John didn't care about their relationship as much as he did and was therefore trying to break up with John, which resulted in John having a near break down and after Rodney tried to calm him down, John's saying that it matters to him to which Rodney says "Yeah, I got that" or something along those lines. Is that enough information for someone to remember that fanfiction?

Mmmm, gluttony. :) Tonight it's white bean soup and homemade bread. Tomorrow, I am TOTALLY having cheesecake for breakfast, but then we are on the road back to DC. There have been some rough patches from the familial aspect, but overall, this has been a welcome respite from normal life. I've even managed to do a little reading and essay grading (AND DISCOVERED THE MOST AMAZING STUDENT GEM OF ALL TIME), although of course, not nearly as much as I should have done. But! There is always the drive back tomorrow.

For now, I am drinking champagne and watching LSU football, and there's the new episode of QI waiting for me on my harddrive, which is exactly as it should be.

My family pooled the birthday and Christmas money for this year and got me a shiny new TV - I only need a good DVD player now and I'll be able to watch my movies in high definition! \o/

I'm looking for a story where John is really turned on by Rodney's skidmarks. I think there was this whole thing where Rodney started wearing underwear that rode up a bit to indulge John's kink. Anybody?

Two stories I keep thinking about but can't remember who wrote them and where they are.

1) All I remember is Lex trying to do laundry and it doesn't work because he doesn't know you're supposed to clean out the lint tray. Clark is amused at him. I *think* they're living together in Metropolis and Clark is in college.

2) Clark's a rent boy. Lex hires him (permanently?) and at one point (maybe?) uses a collar on Clark. I know its NOT Pretty When Your Mine, if that helps.

Anybody want an invite to [Google Wave]? I've got seven, free for the asking.

There's an [~8 minute preview vid] from Google, if you're not sure what Wave is. Although, I'm still not really sure after watching that and having an account, so. This [~2 minute vid] is slightly more comprehensible (sorry, but those Google folks don't really have a good screen presence or teaching dynamic).

Mostly, I think I don't really deal with situations where a wiki-email-other hybrid type thing is useful, but I can see how it would be in certain situations. I'm currently most excited about the real-time translation tool for chatting with people in a foreign language. I am very curious as to how well the translator works. And it could be really cool if they had a way for their user base to correct the translator, to make it even better.

So my review thus far is best [summed up] by Wired: "No, we’re not really sure what to use it for, either, but it’s from Google and it’s invitation-only, so it must be awesome. Right?" ;)

I got back from NC yesterday, where I had a most wonderful time with my beloved Brittany and her fabulous flatmate. We spent the week doing homework, going to class (B.) and uploading photos (me), chatting, drinking tea, eating delicious (and not-so-delicious) food, and watching bad movies and good TV. :)

Of the bad movies, the most noteworthy was Twilight, which we finally managed to see after three or four failed attempts. I had downloaded the RiffTrax on valancy_s's recommendation and if it weren't for that, I don't think we could have finished watching. The Riff made the movie tolerable instead of entirely soul-sucking. Aside from the awful acting and directing, I really disapprove of the cinematography. There were a lot of really weird-in-a-bad-way camera angles that made us go "wtf?" So, there was lots of moaning and groaning and a few laughs thanks to the RiffTrax folks, and now we can say we've seen it. Fifth time's a charm ... or something.

We also watched Born Yesterday, which was hilariously bad propaganda for U.S. ideals. The movie is from 1950 and the play it's based off of is from 1946, so it's full of reminders of what we'd fought for in WWII and definitely some Cold War influence, too. They keep bringing up "Tom" Paine and making analogies concerning Napolean and French peasants and fascists. Brittany and I kept looking at each other and going, "Really??" The propaganda bit is definitely over-the-top.

Bad movies are fun in good company, though. :)

For Thanksgiving, we cooked a turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, biscuits, cranberry sauce, and salad. Then, of course, there was dessert: apple pie, sweet potato pie, and a lethal pumpkin bar/cake thing of great deliciousness. Lots of yum! \o/

I have tried over the last week searching everything I have downloaded since June, which is a scary amount of fan fiction let me tell you, but I cant seem to find the story I am looking for.

All I can remember is that it ended with Clark giving Lex a collar and asking Lex to wear it the next time he had a meeting with Lionel.

5 Things of Happy from today:

1. fuzzyboo03 was here! She joined twitchylizard, my family, my sister's roommate, and I as we ventured down to San Jose for the Harvest Festival. We nibbled our way through the exhibit hall. I came away with some custom blended olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette, dark chocolate covered honeycomb, some delicious apricot-cinnamon spread, and a pair of earrings that might be mine or might end up as my mother's Christmas present. Not sure yet. All in all, much fun was had by all!

2. PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE. 'Nuff said.

3. Tonight fuzzyboo03 and I made twitchylizard (and various members of my family) watch "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances." Watching these eps made me squee with happiness that soon we shall have Moffat fulltime and Who will be like that all the time.

4. My sister tonight informs me that in 2004, when she and I were in London, we saw John Barrowman in Anything Goes. I had no effing clue who he was at the time, but it's still sorta cool. I enjoyed the show, despite having to watch it through my prescription sunglasses, as that was the trip where I lost my purse (containing my regular glasses) in Paris.

5. Caz has gone batshit crazy over the turkey. It's been utterly hilarious, but of special amusement (and okay, this happened yesterday, but it continued to amuse today) was when a piece of wing fell off the counter and into his bowl while my father was carving the bird yesterday. Caz just stared at it, eyes as big as saucers, clearly frozen with shock and awe, until my father rescued it. We declared that piece to be Caz's and have been giving him nibbles from it ever since.

I'm still sick - have not gotten my voice back and I've got a kind of a nasty cough. I hate this part of being sick; the lying about and watching TV part is not so bad, even if feeling gross is not so much fun, because at least you have permission to do nothing. But once you're halfway on the mend and have to start getting off your ass to do things you don't really have the energy for yet - that part is not much fun.

When the story starts, Lex and Clark are roommates, Lex and Lois are dating, and Clark is pining over Lex. Lex knows about Superman, Lois doesn't.

At Lois's bachelorette party, Lois and Clark get drunk, make out, and then go visit Lex...

It's a long-ish story, and it's by a major name in SV, but damn if I can remember who.
