So I no longer have to wait. New eps as of this evening. Yay. A nice episode to come back with. Also, it amuses me that Bizarro wears the reversal of Clark's colors, blue over red instead of red over blue. It's like the 'red superman, blue superman' story only not quite... And we're certianly abruptly tying up plot lines, what w/ Gabriel etc. I still feel sorry for Lex. I think my sympathies will always fall to him first. It was interesting technique wise that Lex on the roof screaming in the rain in this ep was (to me) a deliberate echo of the beginning of his 'craziness' in the excelcior etc flash back ep when he screams after the "Julian" baby blanket on the roof. So sad. Also, how did Clark wind up in the ice anyways...I missed that, was there ever an explaination.
Also, I've started reading "The Question" which is a 6 part comics series set in Metropolis staring, a superhero 'the Question' from Chicago aka Vic S. a tv-show personality who is able to glean information from 'the heart of a city'. It's pretty cool, the art style is very different. And of course being set in Metropolis, Lex and Superman are characters. It also introduces the underground web of evildoers, possibly orchestrated by Lex? They work behind superman's back doing small things that disturb the peace but leave no trace when Superman is occupied elsewhere. It's interesting to look at the phenomenae of superhero from a hero who is really a ubiquitous 'common man' and so can sense the undercutting of society where someone who's as high up as Superman can't sense what he doesn't hear or see with his own eyes. Taking the pulse of a city is a hard job I guess.
Lin also loaned me the Superboy comic in which Lena Luthor is first introduced. I haven't read it yet but I will this weekend. Yay. And on a final comics note, Alex Ross is still my fav. Read the JLA book he did about the alien virus epidemic. Much fun and so pretty!
