Contra dancing. I'm going to be doing a lot of that this year. It's a good thing I like it. However I want people to go with me because while I like a lot of the people there, it's a little weird going on my own.
This time there were a bunch of college students from Americore based out of Tacoma dancing. It's weird because everyone assumes I'm in college. I didn't realize this until my partner for that dance asked me what my major was. >.> I said I was interested in Japanese and Creative Writing, and No I don't go to the UW. Um right. Somebody help I can't keep up pretending to be in college for the rest of the year, actually I didn't pretend anything I just never had time to clarify I was in highschool and then I saw what he thought he was saying and what I was saying and they were totally different thoughts that were misinterpreted by the other person which makes stuff complex. Anyways he was nice enough (moved over from Chicago 2 weeks ago, still in college), and a pretty good dancer after some trial and error.
There are a lot of really good dancers, but I need to find more guys who are great leads who I like (Fern!), because while most everyone is great, there's these three guys who are good dancers and lovely people but they dance a little creepily (i.e. *really* looking in your eyes the whole time they tell you to do that but don't at least not so seriously) and a lot of the older men don't have the arms they used to so they're not so good at supporting.
And then there was this guy I danced with who's hands were *freezing* it was very odd. He also was very tall and lanky and pale with dark hair, and his eyes were *black* they had NO PUPIL it was very very weird. His face looked like a puppy's.
So my friends should come with me (especially guys) because it's fun and awesome and I want someone to waltz with because leading my mother's friend (Susie) around is not really that fun for me, especially when I'm not that great a waltzer yet and I can't really lead someone a foot taller than me easily.
