Fanfiction (or fanfic) is a new form of literature in which the author writes using pre-existing situations, locals, and characters. It first came into popularity with Star Trek, today fanfic comprises a large portion of the internet. FanFiction.Net hosts 349,318 Harry Potter fanfics, 132,273 Naruto fanfics, 14,278 Supernatural fanfics, 8,174 Smallville fanfics, and 17,595 fanfics (fanfiction.net). Most of these stories are written by women. One particular female drive genre is Slash. Slash is a genre of fanfiction that features romantic relationships between males. This type of literature is a host to discussions of relationships and sexuality, deconstructing negative images of women and homophobia from the sanctioned media. Slash should not be labeled as immoral or pornography, even though it may deal with issues that appear delicate the way in which the writers and readers of slash treat and explore their topics makes it an important venue for female exploration and speech. Random plotbunny-ness. In light of the two finales I'm going to float to random SPN things that have been hanging out in my brain. Maybe I'll write them this summer, maybe someone else will do it for me? Well, either way:

1) I'd like to see some fic related to the Winchester Grandparents. Maybe all four are dead, but I wonder what they thought about Mary and John, about the kids if they ever knew them. Were they part of Dean and Sam's lives before the fire, after? I'm just curious because it's a backstory we know (as far as I can tell) nothing about.

2) Remeber that song "never laugh with the herse goes by..." it ends with something about worms crawling in and out and "playing peanuckle on your eyes". As a kid it freaked me out major time. I'd like a fic somehow relating to that song, either wee!chesters or a more reflective piece, probably Sam centric?

So I wouldn't have a full break until I'd written at least something. This story is the product of very little sleep and staring at the sparkley for too long. Originally I was going to write a totally normal original fic involving a sapphire ring, for the obvious reasons but I just finished S6 and was thinking about Lana and plotlines and falling asleep and bamb there was this plot.

This is what happens when you stick me in Clark Kent’s head around midnight. I wasn’t really counting on snow but this story bit me and I figured I might be able to use it for my POV piece for creative writing. Um obviously not as it’s so Clexy/SV centric. I couldn’t scrub off the serial number without loosing the entire story. Oh well. I’ll just write another. This is written second person, Clark’s POV, and as a stream of consciousness story. It probably needs more beta then I’m willing to edit at the moment so suffer with me, or point out flaws. It’s a little less ramble-y than it was when I wrote it last night, but it’s still a bit longwinded. Of course as my interpretation of someone’s thought process…well I hope it’s enjoyable.

I did have time, in absence of the net (and yes I spent almost all of today reading fic on my computer...) to write a bit myself. So here's to having a dialouge assignment and winding up with really random Smallville fics that are only 1/3rd based in series 1/3rd in my head and that last bit from who knows where but I'm not really sticking in character. So I have to be doing something to mask all the fanfic reading I've been doing. What's an excuse to be on the computer all the time? I'm writing. Funnily enough I write more longhand than I actually type things out. This story started out as subterfuge and I would type a sentence or two whenever my mother walked by. About window blinds. Well since I've got SV on the brain it became a shortfic.

I always did think Archibald was the bad guy...This could be a WIP, but since I tied it up well enough for my own piece of mind I doubt it, unless as readers it doesn't sound like it ends. So I haven’t seen Last Exile in 2 years, except two episodes I watched yesterday because I was looking for a quote that didn’t actually exist. I thought something Muraki said was actually spoken by Lady Delphine, fancy that. Anyways this is in thanks to Emilia (who I saw yesterday) for the absolute awesomeness that is Eyesheild 21. I read them all yesterday. I want more. I say I detest most shounen manga, and it’s true, but there’s something about those little guys with some big talent (Hikaru no Go, Eyesheild 21) that makes me happy. I want the rest. I’ll give you yours back on Sun. I would earlier, but I’m going camping (horror, my ‘rents are already having issues just packing the car, as always) So here’s the Last Exile fanfic I’ve been working on. Hope ya’ll enjoy it.
